Software for creating POI files

Hi folks.

Can anyone assist with what software they are using to create POI (OV2) files for the TomTom?
I have been using POIEdit 2007 (DNote software) for many years and it has been flawless. In the last 6 months or so since upgrading to Win11, it has been giving constant Script errors after completing each field, although it does still create and save the files properly.

What else is there out there that's simple to use, preferably free, and possibly also gives the option to save as CSV?

You can use Tyre to Travel or ITN Converter or MyRouteApp there are three to be getting on with. If you cannot find ITN Converter I can send you a file.

I store all my POIs in an Excel spreadsheet alongside other data, such as creation and update dates. I then remove the extra columns and save only the names and coordinates as a CSV file.

If I need to create an OV2 file, I'd use GPSBabel.

As a geocacher, I use GSAK which runs GPSBabel under the hood. I was pleased when many years back, Clyde added *.ov2 files to the collection of output formats.

Adding our own custom points of interest—those were the good old days.

Today, the older GPS units that allowed this are breaking down, while the option has been removed from newer models.

New batteries in my old GO 620 and two Bridge units have them running strong still. I take the 620 with me when I travel, and have both Bridge units in the regular daily driver (one for the co-pilot).

I've tested the newer stuff, but can't use them regularly do to lack of the custom POI feature or any reasonable workaround.

Don't forget proximity alerts.

That's why I use TomTom on my iPhone, using the third-party app POIViewer to store the POIs and send the coordinates to TomTom, so I can at least navigate to my own POIs, even if I can't have the icons show on the map or navigation screen any more.

Funnily enough, the old TomTom legacy still works on my iPhone, albeit with outdated maps and no traffic.
