TomTom Model(s)
Go Superior 6"
I was very pleased with my Tom Tom Go 5200 until the power/battery started playing up and was told by a Tom Tom technician after trying several fixes that it was time to upgrade.
YES UPGRADE. What does that mean?
After much research and with recommendation from a Tom Tom agent, I decided to buy a Tom Tom Superior 6"
Well first of all it SHOULD NOT BE CALLED SUPERIOR. This model I thought would be a suitable upgrade. BUT no. Software on this model has gone backwards. As a pensioner I rely on my Tom Tom, especially when fitted with a display of the current time. But guess what..... the so called Superior does not have the ability to show me the current time of day. WHY OH WHY has this been taken away. There is still space on my screen to display it.
It would only take your software engineers to insert this in a new software update. What is going on?????

This so called updated model took me ages to decide upon and now it looks like I have gone backwards.

Now what can be done????

This is the third thread where you've posted your requirement that a clock be provided on the screen. Do we need to address this in all 3 threads, or are you prepared to agree on just one so we aren't duplicating effort here?

I changed the battery in my 5200. I will resist the so called update as long as possible where I will have to pay for stuff that currently has no cost or subscription charge.

Hello everyone.

Before my GO Exclusive, I owned a GO 730, a GO 1005, a GO 6200, and a GO Premium X, so I feel qualified to give my opinion on the evolution of TomTom PNDs.

There have been numerous regressions.

In no particular order:

Inability to customize the software—for instance, the altitude display I had on my GO 730.

Inability to add personal POIs.

Loss of the hands-free calling kit and message display features I had on my GO Premium X. I drive an older car that doesn't have these built-in.

Loss of the current time display. (Incomprehensible!!!)

I’m probably forgetting a few things.

You have to wonder what goes through the minds of the developers (and especially their managers) when they are designing new software and decide to remove features that existed in older versions.
