Use Map only, w/ no directions?

I'm a new Tom Tom go720 user. I transitioned from a Magellan, which broke. Can you just use the map view without having to use directions? I've used the directions and can't seem to get them to turn off, when either I reach my destination or want to stop the directions.

The "clear route" option is on the third menu screen.

If you set the "show fewer menu items" in preferences, it won't appear.

A lot of times when I go out on the motorcycle or the car I will not have a route in my OneXL and like you mentioned just use the map view and it works just fine, as mentioned you can use "Clear Route" from the menu and you will be operating "Fresh"..............
