updating without loosing favourites???

my wife is starting to crack it with me
everytime I seem to do an update she looses all her previous destinations, how do I avoid this in future please?

Stop using Favourites, instead create a custom POI category named "_Favourites" and put all the locations in there - Mike

OK, I can see that, and this doesnt get "lost" when we update?
so is that a bug with the ONE XL? I wondered when I did a backup whether I can restore them from there or whether that restores an old version back on the unit, I guess it does

You can copy the old MapSettings.cfg back to the map folder on your device and then use Home to either add/ move an existing favourite, this action using the operate my go via Home causes the MapSettings.cfg file to be re saved in the new file format.
Personally I wouldn't bother and just convert the old MapSettings.cfg file to an ov2 format using POIEdit and chuck that in the map folder as its a far better approach - Mike
