Renault carminat updating sd card

Can anyone help? I've purchased latest maps but before I can install tomtomhome insists on doing an update. So I've done this 10 times but when I insert it in the car I get "no maps found!". I've tried restore but still get the same.
So instead of having outdated maps I now have no maps at all!
I've followed advice provided on this forum but no success so far. Can anyone help?
