Go live camper and caravan
Hi all,
Desperately need some help. I have a tom tom go live camper and caravan sat nav.
A few weeks ago, I did the latest update , but since then, the device turns on but after a few mins turns itself off again. I did the reset option with no results. Can anyone help ?
Thanks. Rexy

Sorry to say, but a seemingly very large number of the Camper 1005 units have been bricked by the TomTom update.
Especially since we know this from the large number of reports here, I would push that line with TomTom when I talk to them.

1) Do NOT let the person on the other end claim that it's some 'new' issue.
2) The "That model is obsolete; how about a great deal on a new one?" line isn't cutting it with us here.

It's definitely something about their update, not operator error, that is causing this.
There's a thread somewhere here, and no doubt on the TomTom corporate support board, where a small handful of users have found some method to recover from this, but it's my impression that the problem returns after a short period of time.

My stumbling across this posting is far into the future from its first posting date.
I had what seems to be exactly the same problem with my GO Premium earlier this year.
All the on-line advice from TomTom customer support for things to try did not work.
Fortunately my device was still under warranty.
I finally returned the device to TomTom.
I did not receive a detailed feddback report, but I believe that they had to complete;y rebuild the installed firmware and software.
I haven't had the problem again, so far.
