When updating my device with the latest map I had the above issue. Just wanted to say that one quick call to Tomtom customer support sorted it out. Very helpful and polite young lady who very quickly solved my problem.
See lots of negative stuff on the internet Re customer support but they were fine with me.

Oh ,forgot to say the phone was answered within about 10 seconds, after some of the stuff I've heard I was settled in for a twenty to thirty minute wait.

Credit where its due.
