TTR2 No Sound on bike mount

Hi,
I've had a TTR 2 for a couple of years. Currently I am getting sound through the scala rider headset if the rider is handheld.

As soon as put the unit on the mount there is no sound.

I've sprayed the whole mount with WD 40 and it appears that sound is restored.

My question is how long for? is the mount on its way out.
It would appear that there is an ingress of water somewhere.
Anyone had a similar experience?

Sound like you got water in the mount... and the WD40 (Water Displacement formula 40) has dried it up... until it gets wet again it should be fine. I have ridden through driving rain and never have the problem. I do have my mount on a power switch and keep it off unless the Rider 2 is on the mount.
