TomTom Traffic in the US?

Can somebody please confirm whether or not Traffic works in the US or not. I see some things on the TomTom website that suggest it is available but the TomTom Home software says it is not available in the US. Before I subscribe I wanted to get clarification and see if anybody else is using it. Good, bad, worth it?

Yes it is available as part of the PLUS services, which is free for the time being for people in the US

When HOME starts to say it's available, I believe, they will start to charge.
