I have this problem with both TomTom Home Mac OS X.5.5 & Windows Vista SP
When I start tomtom home and connect my 720, I get "unknown error" from the home software.
I can control my 720 using tomtom home, but i can't restore, backup, or check for updates.
After this error the program just goes back to the main screen.
