Tinted Glass Issues

Firstly my apologies if this question has been posted before.

I have an old TomTom which has been very reliable but always suffered with issues getting it's signal through my vehicle glass as I have tinted windows all around and a blue tint on the window screen (All of which are factory default). The vehicle (In case it's important) is a Vaxhaull Zafira.

My question is - I want to upgrade to a new Tomtom, however I really don't want the issues I've had previously, so have the new devices overcome this issue or does the same issue still remain?

Thanks in advance
Vic

Same issue will remain, Vic. A newer unit might have the tiniest of improvement in sensitivity over an old one, but not enough to deal with that issue. It's the metallic content in the some window tints that does the damage. Rumor has it that a GPS 'repeater' with an external antenna can help, but I've never used one.
