So where's the software update that's supposed to fix all these little bugs ALL OVER THE PLACE....? And where's Home 2.0 already!? Are they sleeping over there at TomTom?

Anyone have any info?

Home 2.0 is out already. As soon as I installed my disc it upgraded me to the new Home 2.0. It works well and even allows you to control the device from the computer when you are working on a route or trying something new.

As for bugs. What problems are you having? Mine works flawlessly except for my cellular phone is not compatible so the data connection is flakey and my Tim Horton POIs are a little off (not their fault). Just curious as mine is perfect and doesn't have any of the handfree issues people speak of.

Nathan...

Mine works great, too. Yes, some POIs are off a bit, but with MapShare you can fix them for everyone.

There is still a problem with the handfree not working. I am not the only one with a 720 thats having the issue. my phone btw is a Motorola V3 RAZR. heres what tomtom wrote to me:

Dear customer,

Thank you for contacting TomTom Support in regard to the microphone and blue tooth connectivity issues you have been having with the GO 720. I am truly sorry you are experiencing these issues. I would be happy to assist you in this matter and my goal is to offer you an exceptional customer experience. We wish to inform you that this issue is being addressed by TomTom Development. TomTom feels that this pairing and microphone issue can be resolved through a software update. There is no set time frame for this application to be offered. I wish I could advise you on the best course of action for your needs. Will the update be available before your exchange period is over? I can not say.

If you have any further questions or comments, please email or call us at 866-486-6866 Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM until 7:00 PM EST. Thanks again for writing. At TomTom we believe in showing you the way the easy way.

Thank You,
Jeremy

I have a TT720, Ive paired my phone with the TT720 about 100 times, it works for a few minutes then fails later. I need to be one inch from the TT720 microphone in order for the other end to hear me, anything further, and the other side gets 10 percent of what I said. The bluetooth phone feature does not work.
my info:
Tomtom 720
Serial # M65297Bxxxxx
G0720(4M00.002)
Device: xxxxx xxxxx
App Version 7.010 (8290/070711) OS:2618

*** Ive noticed that the tomtom 720 on the website now has an extra hole next to the existing microphone hole. Used to be one hole, now there are two.

This doesnt work for me. When I click on 'Operate my device' or whatever that icon in HomeV2 is called, I get told Home needs to download a file. Click ok and it comes back saying file is not available. Tried it over and over but never gets the mysterious file. Anyone know what file it is looking for and where to get it?

This is from Support in North America regarding my issues with xulrunner errors in dl mapshares & Operate My Go

------------------------------------------------------------------

First completely exit out of HOME by closing the window then right-clicking the icon in the system tray and selecting Exit. Then go to C:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2\xul\plugins\emulator\navcore and delete all the files there. If you have Vista, also go to C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\RANDOMSTRING\emulator and delete the navcore directory if there is any there. Then open HOME again and click Operate My GO. A emulator DLL will be downloaded that will prevent this feature from crashing.

This fix is for the crash when using the Operate My GO feature, and may not help for the crash when downloading Map Share. That should be fixed when HOME 2.1 is released October 25.

------------------------------------------------------------------

The fix for Operate My Go did work.

tundra914,

posting your Device ID is not a good idea! SN does not matter, but Device ID is a different story altogether.

If I was a mod I would edit it out of your post. I'm not so I can't. You should!

A solution for xulrunner error

Posted on another forum from a poster who finally got a knowledgable support person.

With TomTom on and in the dock, load up TomTom Home software (if not already loaded).

In the top menu of TomTom Home, select Preferences-->Tom Tom Mapshare-->check BOTH boxes you see there and click on 'Done'.

The next time you are in the Update screen, dl mapshare changes again. It'll work. (did for me and other posters).

Apparently a recent mapshare download was corrupt and prevented future downloads.

Hope this helps...
