Using the iOS Go app v3.9 (latest at 2024-01-28).

Every time the the app finds a "faster route", it automatically zooms out from my local, manually set (2D), view, to a full-route overview. In London that can happen every minute or two as it tries to save me a tiny amount of time by diving down a side-street. I then have to +++++ to get back to a useful view. Exceptionally annoying and quite distracting (and therefore dangerous). I believe that I have exhausted all the settings options, but stand to be corrected. Anyone else seeing this?

Many thanks.

Thanks Willy875.

Seems slightly different on mine - I see:
Settings > Route Planning > When a faster route is available... Always take/Ask me/Don't ask me.

I can change "Ask me" to "Don't ask me", which I guess is the same thing, and I suppose it won't offer new routes.

However this seems to be throwing out the baby with the bathwater. I /do/ want to be offered faster routes (the green track on the map and the diverging green arrows on the route bar) as they are of course sometimes useful, but without the dramatic zoom out. I don't think the zoom out is a necessary part of being shown a new route - one should be able to see the offered green track while on the current zoom level, and the diverging arrows on the route bar if the new route is outside the current zoom level.
