regarding google itn files......

Hey guy I'm using Google maps to make itn files to upload to my GO720. My question is when i open the file on my tom tom how can i avoid having it re-calculate and change the route? Basically I want to keep the route exactly as I have laid it out with Google.. Any suggestions? thanks.....

don't think it is possible unless you add lots of waypoints on the google route, i.e. just click and drag the route slightly as per this route in houston Houston Route

You see on mervyn's route (Houston) that there are waypoints in the left panel (labeled US-59N) of that page. On the map they're depicted with little circles. If TomTom has these waypoints mapped in, it has to take you that way.

Mervyn is right. You just have to add more waypoints to force the TomTom to do the route the Google way.

(The Google routing engine is not the same as the TomTom's. So it may decide on a different way to get between 2 waypoints.)
