340s xl live question regarding live service

I am planning to purchase the 340s xl live.

I know that it comes with free 3 months, and after that its $10 per month. Is it possible to still use it as a regular gps without those live services or would I have to continue paying in order to just use the basic features?

Yes the device can be used devoid of the Live services and it will operate fine as a navigation device - Mike
