Hi dhn

I have a printout of your post for " backup the contacts of your unit to the computer useing Windows Explorer".
The thread is excellent and even though I am not computer illiterate I seem to be missing something in the instructions.
I go through the Folder Options and exit the control panel. The next step is plug in the unit to the computer.
I am asked if I want to connect to the computer and I assume I say yes and TT Home opens. This is where I get lost.
The selection for internal or external comes up in the Home version. What do I do from there for Windows Explorer to take over to make the copy of the internal comments of the unit? What do I do with the TT Home one the screen?
This is where I get lost. You state to start Windows Explorer but what do I do with the TT Home that loads when I plug in my unit? When I click on my computer and highlight Local Disk (C:\) new folder doesn't show up. If I double left click onLocal Disc (C:\) the screen changes and the file drop down now shows new folder. From there things don't fall into the sequence according to the instructions.
I thought I had it right but could you please re-explain the step by step procedure from when I plug in my unit and TT Home opens asking me to select internal or external(SDHC) .
Your thread is excellent but the above problems are occuring from when I plug in my unit. I am useing Windows XP, I have the newest maps 8.45 and my TT 630 has the operating system is 8.351.
I'm missing something and I would appreciate your help. Thanks!!!!

You must have preferences in Home to open up when it detects the connection of the unit to the computer. Personally, I've turned that off in my Home. I'll decide when to use Home.

Anyway.........

SHUT DOWN HOME. It is not involved in the process........

When you connect the unit to the computer, two additional external drives will show up in 'My Computer', one for the internal of the unit and the other for the sdhc card.

You simply highlight one of the drives and use Explorer to make a backup of all the data on it. Once that is done, highlight the other drive and make an Explorer backup of that drive's contents (to a different folder on your computer, of course).
