Basic questions re: Go Premium X model ...

Hello. This model has a built in sim … but do you need to pair it with a mobile phone for live traffic updates ?
Or can it be used as a standalone unit which warns of traffic snarl ups and offers route changes as you drive ?

If it has a sim then you don't need to pair it with a phone for LIVE traffic.

Thankyou. I am a bit thick at times ! So I need things spelled out to me. In an ideal world all I want is a sat nav that gives live traffic and routing info without the need to couple it to a mobile phone. I don't want world maps (who drives around the world?) … I want simplicity, reliability and value. I'm afraid Tom Tom overcomplicate their products but have no serious challenger because Garmin doesn't provide sim models.
