Hi people. was given a TT XL and just wondering if there is any such basic GPS that displays info like LON/LAT/ALT with offroad mapping, waypoints, or like treking wilderness and showing return to start mapping.
If such exist, where can it be found?
    Thanks.

    Welcome to TomTomForums.

Off road mapping and wilderness trekking sounds like a Garmin.

Your TomTom is an automotive device, for road use.

Wait until canderson sees you post, he has detailed knowledge about that.

You'll want to consider one of the Garmin handheld units, preferably with a larger screen if using for automotive, that permits the inclusion of more than the typical road type map. Neither Garmin nor TomTom support much in the way of Forest Service roads or similar. You also want a track/backtrack feature which is exclusive to handhelds. Give me a little better idea of your plans and I should be able to recommend a specific unit (and maps) for you. The good news -- more than likely the maps will be free.
