Hi,

Forgive me if this is a common issue. I searched the forum, but did not find enough info to resolve this issue.

I have a One XL. I updated the Maps via the TomTom Home application on my Mac.

When I try to operate the One XL via the TomTom Home application, and select the US and Canada Map, the following error is displayed:

problem with map you cannot use this map on this device

Would appreciate help resolving this issue, as we are leaving town in the morning.

Regards,
Kevin

Use Finder to look at the contents of the US map folder on your unit. Do you see a file with the extension .meta.dct??

If not, look in the compressed map folder you downloaded here (or a similar path on a Mac:
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\maps\

Extract the file from there and copy it to the map folder on your unit. Restart and see if it helps.

I found this file - USA_and_Canada-140.meta.dct - already on my unit in the USA_and_Canada folder.

Okay, plan B.

Again, make sure you have the Explorer backup. Then delete all the loose files from the root of the unit. NO folders or their contents. Connect the unit to Home and it should offer an application. Download and install. See if that helps.

Try doing a reset on the unit first, just for the heck of it. Hold the power button for 10 seconds or so. See if the map is recognized. If not, try my suggestion.
