Newbie Question

So I used my Tomtom One New Edition several times and finally got around to installing Tomtom home on my computer. It checked for updates and everything was working fine. Now all of a sudden Tomtom won't work anymore. All I get is a screen showing the device with a wire coming out of it and my computer won't recognize it. Any ideas what's going wrong?

Something went wrong in the process. I would also suggest to rest it using a pin. The hole is in the bottom of the unit.

Here is a tip:
When disconnect your unit from your computer. Turn off HOME by right clicking the icon on the bottom right of your computer screen near the time. Select close. Next turn off your unit, then unplugg it from the cable.

I've notice users disconnecting the unit improperly which causes the unit to be corrupted.
