hi, just got a tomtom one 130 ...i downloaded tomtom home, and connected gps to computer....and i let it install the updates.....after the update si decided to try it out......some of the roads are totally named wrong....anyway i can like reload a map or something or reset it, thxs and happy holidays

If you do not have firmware 8x installed, Home will say you have the latest when you may not. Tap the satellite bars to see the version number of the FIRMWARE installed. Now, tap the version number to see the MAP version and build.

If the map is 7x, then upgrade your firmware and try the latest map guarantee again (you have 30 days from 1st use).

If it still say no later maps, then call support at 866-486-6866.

ok, first appreciate the help....i will check version tommorw....so where would i find ver 8 for the tomtom one 130?, thxs again, shawn

If that model can utilize the firmware 8x, then it should be offered as a download when you connect to Home.

map errors are unavoidable, so if latest map still has problem, you can make corrections on your device directly.

i just checked firmware on gps...it says version 8.010 .... this would be my 2nd gps like this....but this one is totally messed... it shows roads that are totally off their names.... while my other one shows the names right.... anyway i can still reload maps?, thxs, shawn

TomTom's documentation seems to indicate that newer maps will be detected when Home checks for updates after connecting the device; but it didn't work that way for me. I got an XL 330S yesterday, and I knew the map wasn't the latest because it was version 7x - still, the update process didn't find it.

Selecting "Use Latest Map Guarantee" from the Tools menu did find it, however. USA and Canada map version 8.15 for my device came in at 906MB, however, and I had to delete a couple of things to make room for it in the 1GB of memory this model has. I believe the ONE 130 is also a 1GB device that ships with USA and Canada, so you may run into the same problem; it's about 60MB bigger than 7x.

Good Luck,
Mark
