I just noticed on HOME. The "New subscription available" message is gone. It's showing "Your map is up to date / number of mapshares available" like it used to. (I undid my workaround)

Is this fixed for others?

The new maps available banner on the bottom is still showing, and it still will recommend and sell you a second subscription if clicked, but at least the message on the upper right seems gone.

Yep. Someone else had mentioned this earlier today as well. So to confirm that it was fixed, I went ahead and restored my original tlv file that is in my "maps" folder which has the correct version showing as 830, and whatdoyaknow, no more red dot thingy message on the top. And yep, the darn banner unfortunately is still on the bottom. At least we can see how many corrections we have now :D

I wonder if we were "breaking" some tomtom database by having the tlv changed.

You never know, tomtom could have been tracking anonymous data or mapshares by map version, and then they notices a ton of map 831 updates coming into their database... Seems funny how it's only a few days after the tlv hack was posted.

Bet it says 1037, right???

Based on my comparison's with others, it includes both community mapshares, and your own. So everyone's got a different number. I've put in a ton unshared of Uturn workaroud updates, so I"m at 1095.

It's interesting how low it is. The number used to be in the high thousands in prior maps. Tomtom must have caught up on their backlog and moved all their verified mapshares into the base map.

Let me know if you get mapshare updates the next time you use Home. Mine didn't deliver yesterday, normally I would get a file/day.

Good news: Message saying New Maps Available and join the subscription series is gone from Home's interface.

Bad news: Just got an email from TomTom saying----

New Maps Available and join the subscription series !!

Sometimes, you just don't know whether to laugh or cry!

Yay, it's working again. But my number is also tiny -- just 806. I went to the Preferences and made sure that I was getting them all (slid the slider left, then right again), but it looks like that's all there is.

I didn't get any new mapshares today, either. I'll watch more closely to see if there's a pattern. But with quarterly updates, I guess I shouldn't expect the number to get up to 30k again.

When I get back home, I'll throw a backup onto SD, and see if mapshare gives me anything at all.

Maybe the mapmakers are too busy shrinking the USA/Canada/Mexico map.

I put a backup to SD, and HOME (using an SD reader) happily offered to update the SD with mapshares.

My up-to-date tomtom didn't get any mapshares, though.

I'm getting the same counts as sage and gber. 1095 yesterday, 1098 today. All of us have the North_America_2GB map.

So I must have been wrong earlier when I said your own mapshares impact the count (i've got tons fo them). It must just be server mapshares.

Why bama gets less mapshares with a more lenient setting is odd.

Can't you can limit mapshares to certain states ? This could be a possible reason.

I think the newest tomtom maps have many previous mapshare corrections added, this is why everyones number is so low. Many of my previous corrections made it into the 8.30 map.

When I go to the supposed filter in Home for mapshares to dl, I see one row for CAN(ada) and lots of rows for US. I suspect each US row = 1 US State but tough to tell if the US rows are listed alphabetically (though not viewable) the same way the cspeechxx.dat files are where 'xx' = the 2 letter abbreviation for each state.
