Hi
Can anyone tell me how to navigate around a waypoint which is on a closed road.
I have a tomtom 410 and I create route itineraries in 'My Route App' and send them to my satnav as a gpx file.
If I'm out riding a route and come across a closed road how do I navigate round it and continue with the route itinerary?
On my old tomtom rider2 you could tell the satnav to skip a waypoint or multiple waypoints on the closed road and it would go around it but on the 410 it has not got that function.

What happens if you select "Current Route" / "Avoid Blocked Road"? I haven't tried that in a while.

The problem with *.gpx files the way TomTom creates them is that they're all done as 'tracks', probably the least efficient and most rigid of any of the three formats. In general, it doesn't let the routing engine use any sense at all - just tries to force it to a very long string of breadcrumbs. I've never understood why they can't work with 'waypoint+route' *.gpx files, which are very much like the old TomTom *.itn itinerary files in practice.

There is no selection on the menu for avoid blocked road on current track on the 400 tomtom it is sometimes available when you click on the route directional arrow but again not always on the menuI don't know what circumstances make it appear as an option.
The only way I am able to get round the issue is to ride in the general direction of the blocked road until the next waypoint becomes closer and then it continues with the itinerary but with some of the country lanes I do it can put a lot of extra miles on the route
