My tomtom go 550

I returned my tomtom go 550 due to lack of fm transmittor and mp3 player. I was about to buy a tomtom go 530 but I acquired a dvd player for my car that has an sd card and ipod dock built in so I have went and bought another tomtom go 550.

I have tried to link my previous tomtom account with the new gps but it is coming up you can only do this every 6 months.

Is there any thing I can do, should I phone tomtom, will they let it pass at their end as I had bought a coupe of voices that cannot be found for free.

Register your new unit with a different e-mail address just make one up as it doesn't have to actually be a working e-mail account that you use just the format of the text that is important, for example [email protected] will work and the device will be happy to accept it.

Never try to use the same e-mail that has been used on a previous TomTom, once its on the server at TomTom you can only ever use it with that one specific device, re-use leads to all sorts of issues mainly with the Live services but your LMG and Home account will also be messed up. - Mike

Call up Tomtom regarding the voices, sometimes they'll be willing to activate them on a your device if you explain your situation. Doesn't always happen, but it's worth a call.

I emailed them and they asked me to send proof I returned the unit. I did this and they reset my account so now my tomtom account is linked with my preferred email address.

Only thing is the snoop dogg voice I bought from voiceskins.com no longer works, when I select the voice my devices just freezes and have to hold power button for 10 seconds.

Is this voice also linked to the last tomtom device, do I have to contact voiceskins to explain too......
