XL LIVE IQ Routes™ Europe
Hi

I live in the UK and have recently purchased an XL LIVE IQ Routes Western Europe edition.
I used the latest map guarantee but unfortunately the computer shut down towards the end of, or may after, the installation process. Is there any way to tell if the process was completed or if items have not been installed/updated on the TomTom. I tried to run the install again (after removing the Western Europe folder to my pc) but I get a message that there is not enough space.

Does your unit start at all and go to the map screen

Yes, it seems to be working OK.

I was just concerned that as the map seems to consist of lots of of files in the Western Europe folder that something may be missing, and if so that it it would be best to redo the update to make sure everything is correct.

If you are not experiencing issues with the functionality of the unit as you run it through the paces, then it is probably ok.

Make a complete Explorer backup , not Home, of your unit's contents.

Thanks for your reply.

I will leave it as it is and see how it goes. I will back it up by copying the entire contents (including hidden) to a zip file using explorer.

you should have a big zip file on your computer in the following location:

mydocuments\tomtom\home\download\complete\map\western_europe

If you open that file and compare its contents to the western_europe folder on your Tomtom, you'll know if you're missing anything. There will be newly generated additional files on the Tomtom, but nothing should be missing.

There will be a difference between the contents of the download folder and whats on the device, the download will contain a full set of cspeech_XYZ.dat files (XYZ being the country abreviations), these files are for Voice Recognition and as you device has no microphone Home knows not to install these files to your device - Mike
