Installing ALERTS and POIs?

Just realized I posted this in another forum and should have probably posted it here.

A very new TomTom 510 user here and have no clue how to install ALERTS or POI's. I did a search and I don't see a thread that explains how to do exactly this.

I am using the USA_and_Canada Map right now (am looking to upgrade to the NA when I get a new SD Card).

Can someone help or lead me in the right direction on how to do this?

Well, not really. LOL

I cannot find the sticky where it talks about how to set up POI's or ALERTS.

Have you seen this for POI alerts?

For install POIs, just unzip the download file to your US_and_Canada folder. It doesn't have to be in a subfolder.
I will create a write up similar Digital Flex's write. He did an awesome job!
