Hi Everyone,

As TomTom has announced closing mysports website and stopping a support of mysports at all, does anyone know if there is another way to add .gpx file to tomtom watch? Normally it works only via mysports website. There should be a way though to import the file directly to the watch..

Would anyone know?

Thanks!
Teodor

Hi

Check this link maybe it can help you

Amazing! It worked! It was a bit complicated but I've manged to install it and upload gpx to my watch.
Few hints if someone faces similar problems:

1) you need to download Java first to be able to install the program TomTomWatch at all
2) you may need to disable your antivirus as another program that installs Java drives changes something in the computer registry
3) after installing the java app and changing the drives so that the Java app sees the watch, the original TomTom Sports connect is not able to see the watch anymore although it's connected.

Thansk!

Very much appreciate the feedback, and that it's good news.

I cannot read this thread without leaving a complaint on how disrespectful TomTom is with its sports watch clients.

What will be the next product line that will become rubbish for a TomTom managers decision?

Any bet?

You are on a user forum, it is to customer service that you will have to ask for explanations.

I know.
I have already done it. As everyone knows, they do not care.
But I want to share with the users of other devices how TomTom treats its sport watches users.

I hope that to share with other users how TomTom treats us does not disturb forum participants that are actual users of their devices. If that does not like to the company... I do not care. Does any user care?

Hi teothor,
Thanks for your post, if at all possible could you please please go into detail and post step by step instructions on how to do this as i don't really understand what you did.
I have downloaded Java from the Java website to my laptop but not installed it yet, also what are the drives that need changing?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Also after doing this will i be able to download my data to Strava?
It's not long since i installed a new battery and it just seems such a waste to throw away a perfectly good working watch.
Thanks.

Update since my last post.
A little confusing at first but it works and i'm really pleased that i don't have to throw away my watch now.
Go to this site and click on download binary 1.6, it will download in a zip format
You might also need to download and install java if it's not installed on your pc
Once installed open the TomTom watch 1.6 zip and in there you will see the makeworkingsdirs.bat file, click on that and it will put a folder called working in your downloads folder (well it did in mine, maybe a different place on your pc)
Once you have done that drag and drop the TomTomWatch-1.6.jar to your desktop, connect your watch to your pc and open the TomTomWatch-1.6.jar program, when opened and your watch is connected you can click on download to see your activities, (use the device tab in the top left hand corner to see various things if you want). This program also clears the storage and does the quick gps.
Now you can click on save, you have to save this into your gpx section in the working folder.
Once saved you can go to Strava and upload your gpx file.
One other thing when you open the TomTom watch program take a look at the serial box at the top to see if your watch serial number is there, mine said unknown so i had to download the Zadig USB installer as the TomTom watch program didn't recognise my usb, ensure you only change the TomTom gps watch by clicking on the options and list all devices and select TomTom gps watch or Workout Drive and install the winusb driver, the program will then recognise your watch.
I found that with my Adventurer the Workout Drive showed in the dropdown list yet with my Spark 2 and 3 it showed TomTom gps watch.
Link to Zadig
Also what i did just to be safe is i created a system restore point on my pc before i started just in case of any problems as i didn't like the idea of changing the usb driver but it was fine, however once you have done this the TomTom sports app will not recognise your watch anymore so you will have to uninstall the driver and revert back to the original driver if you want to, it's easy to do, or wait until the end of September when it's discontinued to try it out.
Full credit and thank you to the creator of this amazing software.

Keep us informed on how you got on and If you have any problems just ask, but i'm sure you will be fine.

Thanks Tee! Following your instructions I used Zadig to update the USB driver, the result is that TomTomWatch now automatically identifies the Serial of my watch, which it didn't before. So this is a first improvement. However, downloading files from the watch keeps failing, after clicking the Download button: "Retrieving file information, please wait... Downloading 0 files Finished!" The same after selecting one of the items in the Device dropdown menu, although files are listed in the bottom window after selecting some of these items. Any suggestions?

Hello, if you don't see any files being downloaded it's probably because all your files were already uploaded and then deleted using the TomTom software. Try to create an activity without uploading it, and it shoud show in the list of available file.

I did not update the USB driver and my serial number is not displayed but it did impeach me to download files so i don't really know what knowing the serial number brings...
Anyway, great to see that i will still be able to use my watch after September.

Regards, Pascal

Hello, one thing which is not 100% clear to me is what will happen exactly after September 2023? It is clear that the files from the watches won't be uploaded anymore to the TomTom Sports Center , but will the files (TTBIN and FIT) still be saved on the PC and then deleted from the watch?.
If it's the case then i don't see it a bit problem as the files could still be imported manually to Strava for example.
Anyway, not much time to wait till we know the answers.

Regards, Pascal

Thanks Pascal, that does the trick! I recorded a new activity and it indeed shows correctly in the files window. The weird thing is that my watch keeps a history of 10 activities of which I can see the summary inside the watch. Anyway, I am happy that I can keep using the watch (also after replacing the battery a few months ago). Thanks to you, Tee, and WalkerOfTheDay for your instructions!

Sorry i didn't get back to you sooner @Clivia but it looks like @froggyranita answered your question.
As for the last 10 activities, it's just the same as TomTom sports, that does not delete them either.
There is an erase history option in the dropdown menu, perhaps this clears it, i can't say as i have not tried it.

The answer to your question Pascal is this software is totally independent of the TomTom software so when you click on download and save the gpx files to the gpx folder it's stored on your PC for whenever you need to import it to strava, the files will remain on your watch until you click erase then it will clear the memory on your watch otherwise after a while as you know it will get full and unusable.
I'm still learning how to use the software but to me it's a great piece of software otherwise it a dead watch or watches in my case.

I'm not 100% sure Pascal but i think, maybe i'm wrong but could it be to help identify your watch if you have more than one watch then you don't get confused.
The person that created the software tested it on three watches the Adventurer, Runner 3 Music, Multisports Cardio so possibly that's the reason.

Hi, I've tested this software with my tomtom runner 3 and it works great. But after tomtom drops support in September will it be possible to continue updating the quickfix with this software? It is very important for me not to spend 10 minutes waiting to start my activity.

Yes @jaagos, all you need to do is connect your watch and click on the GPS Quickfix tab and it will update it. Obviously more things will become apparent after September, but as this software is completely independent of the Tomtom software then everything should work fine.

While using GPS Quickfix in this software it shows:
"Uploading GPS Quickfix data
Configuration URL: https://mysports.tomtom.com/service/config/config.json
Quickfix data URL: https://gpsquickfix.services.tomtom.com/fitness/sifgps.f2p7enc.ee
GPS Quickfix data sent to watch
Done"
Apparently, it retrieves quickfix data from the tomtom server, so not completely independent of TT?
