A model number 4V00.710 could be a Go710 or a Go510.
The hardware was the same, they only differed in the maps loaded onto them (Go510 - UK+Ireland, Go710 - Europe)

The GO710 does NOT use USB for powering. the device itself has a multipin connector and that sits on either the Windscreen mount which has a DC power input jack or on the Home dock which has a USB connection for the PC, and a SEPARATE DC power input jack.

I think you would do well to have a look at the user manual, which you can download from here.

The chargers themselves and a replacement windscreen mount are still available from TomTom themselves.

The other option with the 510/ 710 is to remove the memory card and pop in to a card reader, your PC can access the drive letter in the same way as if the TomTom were connected, once you have finished pop the card back in the device - Mike
