Hlep error when I want to "operate my tomtom"

I hook up the GO720 to my laptop every week for checking updates and adding in itn files converted from google maps by http://houghi.org/tomtom/index.php

I transferred over 2 itn files using Explorer. When I hooked up to tomtom home software today, I tried to "operate my tomtom." It started to show the map screen then switched to a white page saying

this.downloadEmulatorDll is not a function

Please help - Do I uninstall Tomtom home and reinstall (on their website is the older version 1.5x, not the 2.x I have)? Or is it more sinister?

Later note - I uninstalled Tomtom home, installed the older version, rebooted and found the program asking me to update to version 2. Now it is working for me. I wonder what caused the problem since all other functions of the program were working. Computers!!!!

i just uploaded the error to tomtom support...

I uninstalled and reinstalled the software and it's working now.
