HD traffic (where available) on iPhone

Pocket lint is reporting that Tomtom has submitted an app update for Apple's approval, to add HD Traffic to the iPhone app. The app will also add Google Local POI search. Pricing has not been announced.

No news about what traffic (if any) will be coming to North American customers.

It was a uk website, and the article did list the countries. So I never got my hopes up...

This has been confirmed in a tweet from Tomtom. Also, it appears that a press release is starting to hit the wires.

Looks like it's part of Tomtom's CeBIT announcements.

Yep. Confirmation this morning that "Live" traffic for NA, supposedly the same as offered for the 740, will be available as an in-app purchase. Also anticipated is pricing equivalent to the 740's live services here in North America..

You would expect it to be cheaper across the boad since the user is providing the data through their Iphone.
