GO5100 always ask me route preference on front screen

Is it possible to set so that I am always asked what route preference I want without having to go all the way into the sub-menus. This was an option on previous versions.

I have "Ask me so I can choose" but I haven't been asked in the last 3 years.

You have "Ask me so I can choose" where? I have that only for dealing with "When a faster route is available", not the route type itself ("Always plan this type of route").

Thanks. That is what I have discovered. This is a back-wards step from my previous model as far as I am concerned. But there you go!

My old GO740 offers an "Ask me every time I plan" option, too. Those were 'Nav2' generation units. They still included this feature on Nav3 units, and now we're up to Nav4 where they dropped it.
