GO 930 Questions

Greetings,

I have just purchased a GO 930 and I'm not sure if I'm having problems or not. Here is what is happening.

#1 It seems to take a long time to start up and locate the satellites?. It's sometimes 5 mins or so that it stays on the grayed out screen. Is this normal?
#2 Sometimes, not always but it has happened a few times that it shows the streets going in the wrong directions. I'll be headed west and it shows me heading east.

Anyone have any input?

If you connect to tomtom home, the quickgpsfix download will speed up acquisition of satellites. 5 minutes sounds typical for a unit without quickgpsfix. With quickgpsfix tomotm usually finds a signal within 15 seconds if outdoors.

GPS doesn't broadcast direction. Tomtom infers direction by the change in your GPS coordinates. So until you start moving down a road, tomtom's direction may be off.
