External GPS antenna on TomTom XXL IQ routes

Hi, friends!
I wrote from Italy and I am a new member of the forum.
I have a problem with TomTom XXL, I need an external GPS antenna, but in this TomTom there isn't an external connector to fix it.
How can I solve? It is possible to sold the wire of the cable on the board inside the Tomtom?
Someone can help me?

Why do you feel you need an external GPS antenna? Do you have a car with an athermic windscreen?

Hi, thank you for your answer.
I need the antenna because I have integrated the tomtom in the dashboard of the car and there are metallic parts that create problems with the quality of gps signal, so I have think that in this way I can solve the problem, but this version of TomTom haven't connector on the cover..
