Can't Link Device to Existing Account

I had a TT910 for about 4 months and it failed while performing a backup. Spent hours attempting to recover, then took the unit back to Best Buy, where the Geek Squad guy went through the same effort only to agree that a replacement unit was in order. Best Buy exchanged my faulty unit with a 720, which I brought home and immediately attempted to register/activate on TomTom Home 2.0.

When I attempt to activate it on my existing account (email account), it says that I'm linked to a different device (my 910), and it will not allow me to change this because it's been less than six months since I activated the 910. I really don't want to create a new account just so that I can activate the 720. Any ideas?
