My TT v3 is able to connect with my desktop software at home but it does see the software on the laptop. Any suggestions?

Do you have multiple USB ports on the laptop?
(try another port)

Not running NT on the laptop are you?
(no USB support for Windows NT)

If you go into Hardware Manager is the USB port enabled?

I'm running XP Professional v2 on laptop. Device is enabled.

The other thing is I am in a docking station. Would this do anything?

Plug TomTom into the computer and turn it on. Does TomTom then ask if you want to be connected to your computer?

If so and you answer Yes, does it show up as a drive in My Computer?

The answer to these questions will help isolate where the problem might lie.

This pretty much isolates it to being a USB problem, not a TomTom one. Have you had any difficulties on this computer with other USB devices such as flash drives?

I wouldn't think that using a docking station would cause a problem. It certainly hasn't for me.

Other people have also had USB problems. Not sure why. The TT's are UBS2 devices and sometimes the older USB1 drivers don't work until refreshed. Others have reported success by removing the drivers from device manager and then rebooting so you might want to give that a shot.
