Buying Maps

Hello

When I buy a map, for example the World map one time buy and it says (3 months), does that mean it is only valid for 3 months or it is the actual version of 3 months.
If it is only valid for 3 months I find it very expensive.
We have the TomTom go Camper, Europe.

When I used to buy maps for my personal GO 930 the price was for a 1 year subscription with the initial map and an additional 3 quarterly updates.

TomTom has built and named devices with Camper/Caravan specific features all the way back to oldest days, and map offerings vary a bit by generation. Which generation you have will help us understand what map set TomTom is trying to sell you. The latest Camper model doesn't even require a map subscription, so it won't be that one. The 1st two characters of your serial number will help guide us in the right direction.

And if you could provide the url (web page address) where you are seeing the '3 month' offer, that would help us a LOT.

The two TomTom sites I frequent (North America and UK) offer 1 one-time download of a current map, or a year subscription where you download the current map and get updates every quarter (3 months) for a year.

Hi there and thanks for your reply.

The first numbers of the serial number are: ZE40, the Gadget was bought early this year.

And a screenshot of the site where it shows me (3months). If the version just gets older, I dont mind bur if it stops working after 3 months, that would be annoying.

On our ZE, non Camper, map upgrades are free. Is there a surcharge for camper maps due to the additional data?

Hey there, after looking arround a lot I found different maps to buy and it seems the one I looked at "world" is only an update if I already have all the other maps.
So I am going to buy a single map of Morocco.

Don't buy any map until the situation is cleared up. It used to be that a new GPS came with a map for one year but I do not know about the camper map.
The single quarter map will carry on existing as is but it doesn't make sense to get it as the 4 quarters map is less than 10% more at 5 Sfrs.
Could you tell us which map is installed right now?
Menu | go to the right end and tap (?) [question mark] | tap About (note your model number) | scroll down to Installed maps and tell us what you see.

Thanks a lot. I have the Camper Europe map installed and bought the "Morocco" map yesterday too. It should be possible to update later on if necessary.

What I don't like is, that I have to change from map to map and it is not connected, shame TomTom doesn't combine. This would mean if I could I would have to drive to the border and then change map so I can carry on my trip.
