Bluetooth problems after firmware upgrade

I don't know if it's 11.030 or 11.031 but after the upgrade(s), Bluetooth stopped working.

It started with repeatedly connecting and immediately disconnecting, saying: "Connected to <name of phone>. Phone disconnected" with no delay between the statements.

I removed the phone from the Bluetooth devices and tried to let the GPS discover it again. It would find the phone, then when I try to connect to it, the screen will display "Connecting to <phone name>. If your phone asks for a password, enter '0000'" for a long period of time, then say "unable to connect to your phone" and that's it -- although the phone will show the GPS as connected.

The "soft reset" did not help.

The phone is a Sony-Ericsson Z710i (explicitly supported) and Bluetooth was working mostly seamlessly before the upgrade (it would sometimes fail to connect but turning the GPS and phone on and off a couple of times would sort it out). Since the upgrade -- not working at all.

Any ideas?

Can you remove the phone from the device as well as the device from the phone and let the phone try to find the gps device first?

Tried that. Didn't work.
The phone discovers the GPS just fine but trying to connect gives me a message "connection failed".

Hopefully, moderator mvl will see this thread sometime today. He's a whiz at this sort of stuff. (as are other mods, by the way........).
