Adding Garmin SD Maps?

Hey


I would like to first thank this forum. I have learned so much the past few days. Unfortunately, I have one more question.

I live in Brazil also and would love to use my TOMTOM One XL there. There are no maps, but there are companies out there making the maps, like these:

Could I possibly get that SD card, made for Garmin, and put it in my TOMTOM or get that software and install the maps on my TOMTOM??

Yeah, no software or maps will work.
That software is only made for PPC, not TomTom

what if it were the software, from a nuvi with simillar specs to the tomtom and not the ppc version?\

Unfortunately it doesn't have anything to do with the specs of the unit. All the major GPS makers use proprietary maps which only work on their own units. Garmin makes the Nuvi series. Garmin maps don;t work on TomTom or Magellan GPS'es. TomTom maps don't work on Garmin GPS'es. Magellan maps don't work on Garmin GPS'es.... !

Any updates on Brazil maps? I would love to put a map of Brazil on my tomtom. Anyone find any tricks?
