Added new voice via card in computer, when return card to device start up screen appears for about 5 secs then all goes dead?? Put card back in computer and everything is still there , why wont device display it??

What exactly do you mean by 'all goes black'? Is your device one where everything (app, maps, voices, etc.) resides on the card or on internal?

Do you have a backup of your device's contents?
