I want a bluetooth speaker to listen to audio books on long drives. I called tech support and asked about compatibility. They told me that my 720 was not bluetooth ver. 2 compatible but they were working on it. They did not have a list of compatible speakers.

Does anyone use such a speaker and what model and what is your opinion?

TT is pushing their quarterly map updates. Is the cost worth wile?

Thanks guys.

as for the answer to the second question. I live on Long Island NY and have seen the the quartly updates always for me are an improvement over the last one. Quicker IQROUTES more advanced lane changing road. In other areas of the country people do not always get this positive results. Maybe you can tell us where you live and others in this forum who live near you can give a better picture for yourself.

Look for speakers compatible with the bluetooth a2dp profile.

Why don't you use the FM transmitter on the 720? Seems easier/cheaper.

Question 1: My opinion only but, while driving, isn't it better to pay attention to driving rather than listening to a book? Understanding and following a story requires concentration and the human mind can't concentrate on 2 things at the same time and do both at 100% efficiency.

Question 2: Quarterly map updates are not worth it for me. Unless you are spending your life driving in unknown areas, I don't see the point of paying that much money only to get minimal changes 4 times a year. Older cards will still get me where I want to go or, at least very close and usually, from there, I can handle things. Personally, I don't see a point in a new map faster than once every 2 years.
