XL IQ Routes
I've read just about every forum concerning "No room for updates" and have learned much. I seldom use my Tomtom but have an upcoming road trip across the US.
So I naturally I wanted to update my XL. Only to get that "No room and home can't make more"..
So I read. Thing is I can't find the map files as described. And when I do a finder duplication (Mac OS 10.5.8) it copied exactly what I see in the XL. But the numbers don't add up. I do a "get info" and it shows 1.91GB with 11.9mb available.
yet what shows up is much less.
I read about hidden files and how they should show in the Mac OS.
But I see nothing. I've copied a pic of the actual contents as reference.

Any help on this matter is appreciated.

I'm not a Mac person and you say you have read about hidden files BUT there is another type of hidden issue that might involve Macs.

See this thread and the link in the second post of it:

https://www.tomtomforums.com/t24466-how-free-up-space-when-using-mac.html

Thank you,
I thought I had emptied that .trash file but apparently I did not.
Here's a useful widget that toggles the hidden files on and off.
http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/developer/hiddenfiles.html

It freed up enough space AND i found some files that had no business being there...like a video of my grand daughter!! How it got there I have no clue.

In any case thank you for the help!!
