XL and version 2.8

I connected my XL as usual and it started to update to 2.8. Well after it showed a whole heap of updates available the whole system kept failing.
I tried to restore and get fail every time. I even tried running the install on the gps which tried to set up 2.7 but changed to 2.8 on install.
It has worked perfectly up until now but home no longer talks to the XL and visa versa. It will work if not connected to the computer. Restore or backup fails.

What now. How do I get a clean install of any version.

Download the freeware version of Revo Uninstaller from here:
Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems

and completely remove Home 2 from your computer.

Get a fresh copy of Home from here:
TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems - _TomTom HOME

and install.

Then connect your unit to Home and see if things are better.

Thanks for help but luckily I found a backup of my Australia map. on a mp3 player I used as backup. That got me up and running.

I requested help from TT but got no assistance. I lost my splash screen and startup sound but I will set that up again.

I have a few copies now and should home upgrade take out my maps i will have them to restore.
