I do not think so. Why not upgrade the application if the map is a 840 and was obtained from TomTom? If it wasn't, no point discussing it here.

I have not purchased the map yet. Navcore 8.010 never ran well on my XL330s. For some reason ver 7.522 is very stable. If the 840 Map is compatible with 7.522 then I will buy it. Here is my current configuration:

App 7.522 (9270/080416)
Map: US & CAN V815.2035

If you're happy with the present functionality then stay with it. You'll not achieve much, if anything, by staying with that app and having an 840 version map.

No, you need app 7.9 or later to read the 8xx series maps.

You may want to just buy a 335S at costco. It is much more stable than the 330S with the 800 series maps, adds IQroutes, and is on sale now for $99. (not much more than buying a map for your 330S)
