BASIC REPORTING DATA
Date of report: 2nd December 2022
Time of report: 17.40 PM UK time
Device type: Go 6200
Software version: Updated to latest version this afternoon, so currently I'm on 22.100.0004.411 (0) but this issue occurred while I was using the version before this one.
Map version: Western Europe v1100.11661

DATE AND TIME OF PROBLEM
Date and time problem observed: 27th November 2022, approx. 14.15.
Time Zone: UK time.

GENERAL PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
General Description of Observed Problem: I was travelling south on the M11 having started at postcode CB22 4AN and heading for postcode CB11 4UH; the 6200 routed us down a "Works Unit Only" track, towards the eastbound M11 (see Google Maps Streetview link below). I didn't take this turning since I assume entering/crossing a motorway hard shoulder without due cause is an offence. Hence we had to divert around 10 miles south to the Stanstead Airport exit to get back to Saffron Walden.
Surely illegal routes should not be shown?

@Drmarkf

I had a similar issue several years ago (Pre-Covid-19) as I was travelling East on the M25 which I left at J27 and joined the M11 Southbound at J6, a few hundred yards later my Tomtom device (believe I was using my Go Camper) instructed me to turn left off the Motorway through a “No Entry” Sign -Except for Authorised Vehicles. (Lat / Long 51.67264, 0.11993)

See Here

It appeared my device had detected traffic at the bottom of the M11 at the Redbridge roundabout and was rerouting me……….. illegally, which of course I ignored.

I reported this to Tomtom and was assured it was fixed and the maps updated, but checking ‘today’ using the above co-ordinates it appears my Tomtom devices will still navigate you incorrectly off the M11 through the No Entry Sign to Coopersale Lane Epping.

Whilst we are led to believe most map changes take 6-9 months for Tomtom to correct, this must be 3 + years so far………

Suggest you report your problem through Mapshare, but given my experiences, don’t hold your breath for a speedy resolution.;)

Ps My devices using the postcodes you mentioned, all plot the journey avoiding the M11, but guess like me you prefer to use Motorways.

Thanks: with regard to the routing, that was the only route I was offered at the time and I have no special preferences set for motorways.

As to Mapshare, after they reduced speed limits on several roads around where we live from 30 to 20 I reported the change several times a month for over 2 years before they altered anything...

Anyway, I'll report it, but now they've removed the official forum I don't expect anything to change. They couldn't ever be accused of being responsive to customer input

Afraid we're not directly connected to TomTom here, so there's no mechanism for TomTom corporate to receive your report, above.
For now, we're all using MapShare. For any not familiar with this tool:
