Working with POI.dat

I've come to realize that my old TT 910 with 7.10 maps on it has a ton more POIs than my "upgraded" 720 with the same version of maps. Is there a program out there that will allow me to parse the poi.dat file and get whatever pois I want out of it? I was able to use a perl script I found on the net to do part of it but I think it's too old and doesn't work with the existing format.

Im not sure if this helps out

Wow, same map version and build with different POI count?
Are the sizes of the POI.dats the same too?

The twp poi files are very different in size. The one for the 9x0 series of maps is almost 300 MB. The one for the 720 is less than 100 MB. I guess we now know why we're missing things like Churches, and a reasonable set of retail stores. Again I'll say....I bought a new GPS but don't feel like I got much of an upgrade.

What a difference. That happened a bit earlier with another one of the map upgrades that removed all the rest areas on I-75. Duh!!.
