Let me explain the process as far as I deal with spammers. When I log into this site (as much as possible ..... but, you know, a job and some sleep get in the way
) I click on 'New Posts' to see the new listings since my last visit. When I see an obvious spam, I first access a link I have as a SuperMod and ban the user permanently. I then go back and delete the entire thread of the user. If I see more than one post, as A.B. points out does happen, I mass delete them all and then move on to the next spammer, if there is one, and repeat the process.
OTOH, when I log into my email and see posts from users who have notified us of spammers (remember, all mods get the posts), I click on the link that's provided and, if the post is still there (other mods may have gotten there first and already deleted the post) I delete it, ban the user, and move on to the next email [which is why I don't see all posts by the same spammer at this point).
And then back to the actions taken in paragraph one......
All SuperMods perform the same kind of action. We delete the spammers and ban them as soon as we can.
But, when spam shows up between the hours of, say 2:30 Eastern to about 6 am Eastern, I'm (hopefully) asleep or just getting up for work. Meanwhile, Pedro2NR, being on the West Coast, is probably sleeping during those hours as well.
That's why that spam lingers on this Board till we can get to it.
Hopefully, the above information will convey how spammers are dealt with. Trust me, we mods are as frustrated as you, if not more, when this junk shows up.
