TomTom Model(s)
720
I have an old go720 which I have just had repaired .
Tom Tom home update tells me that my SD card is not big enough (4gb) what SD card do I need to download my whole Europe map, or at least western Europe
Thanks

Anything up to a 32 gb card. But it should be fast (class 10) and from a reliable maker (SanDisk is a good choice). Too many of the cards offered on places like eBay are fakes that are made in China.

I believe you cannot update to a larger card.
My GO 930 cannot read micro SD cards and I have not found a larger plain SD card.
If you have a larger micro SD card, put it in its holder and see if your 720 recognises it.

Seems to me that if the firmware is at 8.301 (pulled that out of my own dormant wet memory) or higher, it should read a 16GB card. Wasn't 8.301 the old breakpoint for memory restrictions?

Maybe so but I could not find a plain 8GB card 2 years ago when TomTom screwed up my internal on 3 of 4 quarterly paid for updates.
I see Amazon now offers 16GB cards but I am not certain that is not a micro in an adapter.
