I want to go from point A to point B but do it using out of the way routes that I pick out ahead of time with planed stops along the way without having to reset my gps at every waypoint. Any units out there that let you plan your trip and download it to the gps? Trying to get some feedback on what to buy, also need text to speech.
Thanks for your input

The Go series (7x, 9x) have Itinerary Planning as do a few other models of TomTom. The Go series also includes TTS.

See this link for further info as to how goole maps, itineraries and a 3rd party program called TYRE all fit together.

Thanks to member, Birdman.

The feature you are looking for is called "Itinerary Planning". All Tomtoms currently sold in the US have Itinerary Planning, except for the One 3rd edition, ONE 125, ONE 130, and ONE 130-S.

Text to speech is available in the ONE and XL line if the model ends in an "S". It is also available in any currently sold Tomtom GO model.
