The voice directions are well completely useless, if the word has a combination of the following letters it just come out a a garbled mess
"ort, hir orth" Forty comes out as farty which was funny to start with but not anymore Just returned from a trip to Devon and direction showed turn of M5 onto the A361towards Tiverton, the voice said A Thiiiiirrrryyy sixone towardrs Tiveration, a bit further along we had to turn onto the B3137 and I what came out was totally uncomprehensable.

Phone is running latest Android, app has been updated, unistalled and reinstalled and still the same. I also had a Andriond tablet running Andriod 12 that does exactly the same.

Is this a known issue and is there a fix, I'm at the point of ditched Tom Tom and going back to Sygic

Consider using a different voice to see if that helps.

Settings / Sounds & Warnings / Voices / Choose a Voice
If you are using Serena or whatever the standard UK voice is these days, try one of Android's own voices (there are usually at least two or three additional options) and see how that goes.
There's also that option to "Download a voice", and you might want to give Samantha (U.S.) a go to see if the two of you are compatible <g>.
