Vacation in USA

Hi there, first time poster so sorry if this has been covered before.

I live in Germany and have a TT one 3rd ed. Very happy with it.

I am going to the USA in a few weeks and want to take the TT with me.

I have bought a USA map and will put it on the TT shortly before I go.

2 questions.

Is the power adapter for a car lighter the same size as in Europe? I guess that they are standard but .....

Secondly I can pick up traffic status reports in Germany (RDS?) and get warnings about traffic jams ahead. Will this work in the US?

Answer is Yes to the first question, the chargers are the same. Just make sure if you plan to rent a car that there even is a cigarette outlet or at least a powerpoint outlet in the car you want to rent.

As to the RDS, sorry but the antenna used in Europe is not compatible with the one sold in the US, so just trying to use yours won't work.
